Drawing : Record

私は最終的な絵画の草案として、このドローイング制作を初めにしている。

The first process of creating this series starts from taking pictures. I travel around Japan and take pictures of the landscape which impress me.  It  means  I record the time and  place I exist at that  moment. I combine this record with my subjective

feeling, thought, and senses when I finish it up as a final work. The whole  process of creating the series "Record" is how I can make a balance between the outer and inner world, or  I should say between the objective and subjective world.

制作プロセスの初めに写真という媒体を持ち込むのは、私が写真のシャターをきる瞬間、その場に存在していることが一つのポイントである。写真はその時、その場の客観的な外部と私の主観的な内部をつなげる重要な役割を果たす。私たちが存在している地点、見ている風景、時間、さまざまな歴史の痕跡、写真によるフレーミングは私の思考の積み木であり、記憶である。そのような写真に手作業を加え、客観的記録と主観的体験による記憶をドローイングとしてアルミ板の上に加工したのが「Record」シリーズである。
